If your friend do something bad on you or betray you, what will you do in return? For opinion, it's "Forget" and "Forgive". There are many different combination.
1) Just forget, but never forgive. Forget is to let yourself be happiness without hate inside you. No forgive is to respect yourself because you cannot accept this friend or the relationship with him any more.
2) Just forgive, but never forget. Forgive because you have to or still want to keep the relationship with him whatever the reaon behind. Or you would like to give him a chance to start with a clean slate. Yet, you will not forget as you have to bear in mind what he did on you to protect yourself from him to avoid similar case happen again in the future. Anyway, you have to keep it in your heart only and not mention the previous case any more. Otherwise, you will keep blaming him accidentally and puting pressure on him. Then....the relationship will not be keeping well.
3) Forget and Forgive. This is the best way to release your hate and set yourself free. You can really enjoy kindiness in this way and enjoy a beautiful life. It's so sad and hard to keep hate and aversion in life. It can make yourself being unhappy and angry. Some people may challenge that "no forgive is to respect yourself" is indicated in above sentence. If you forgive, will you not respect yourself. It is not truth becasue you are in a higher level currently. "Respect" refer to "not accept this friend or the relationship". However, you can accept him in existing level.
Fact is truth. No one can change the fact. Just like the movie called "Doubt". The sister ( Sister Aloysius Beauvier ) doubts prist ( Father Flynn ) had a guilt-inducing on a black boy and then she insistss her suspicion is the fact by her experience only without any evidence. Though, Sister wins at the end and Prist leaves the church and school, Sister Aloysius Beauvier is guilty of her behavior and what have her done on Father Flynn since she really has a doubt on her suspicion as well eventually. She really has a doubt. Actually, she may knows Father Flynn leave the church and school without fighting with her becasue he does not want to reveal the black boys' sexual aptitude in order to protect him from any violation and discrimination.
People can lie to every body, but no one can lie himself. He will be gulity. If he can really fool himself, it will not be worth for us to upset for him and we can ignore him.
In a case of quarrel between 2 guys. If both keep fighting, argument will be endless. If one can keep silence and the other one keep scolding, people will annoy about scolding one and blame him because of his noise. As a result, you seems a loser in appearance, but actually you are winer. You seems a loser to your opponent, but actually, you get the support from the people around. If people know you well, they will know you well.
I have a doubt that if any one never forget and never forgive to suffer from hate....in life.
